In the plastic recycling granulating line, the role of waste plastic crusher machine is crucial, because a good crushing effect directly affects the capacity of the whole production line. Usually, the plastic crusher is placed in the front section of the plastic recycling washing line.
This machine usually consists of a knife shaft consisting of a moving knife and a fixed knife to cut the material to ensure the uniformity of the material. However, as the operating time of the crusher increases, the knives will become blunt, which requires timely sharpening of their edges to ensure the stable operation and capacity of the whole plastic recycling washing line. Below, we will introduce the steps of crusher blade replacement in plastic recycling equipment.
Blade Removal
- Shutdown and Power Off: Before undertaking any maintenance procedures, it is crucial to shut down the waste plastic crusher machine and disconnect the power source to ensure safety.
- Remove the Guard: Open the plastic shredder’s guard to access the blade area.
- Disassemble Old Blades: Carefully disassemble and remove the old plastic crusher blades using appropriate tools, ensuring safety and preventing injury.
Installation
- Inspect New Blades: Before installing new blades, ensure they are in good condition with no defects or damage.
- Install New Blades: Replace the blade with a new one, or sharpened one, noting that it is best to use a knife sharpener to ensure a sharp edge.
Adjustment
- Blade Clearance Adjustment: Adjust the gap between the blades appropriately for different materials according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Make sure that the distance between the blades is even to ensure effective crushing.
- Install the Guard: After adjusting the blades, reinstall the waste plastic crusher machine‘s guard to ensure safe operation.
Inspection of Waste Plastic Crusher Machine
After installation, rotate the spindle by hand to check whether there is any interference between the movable and fixed knives, and then check the fixation of the blades.
Trial Operation
- Start the Plastic Shredder: Reconnect the power source and start the plastic shredder.
- Monitor Operation: As the plastic crusher runs, closely observe the performance of the blades, ensuring there is no abnormal vibration or noise.
- Fine-Tuning and Testing: If necessary, make minor adjustments to the blade clearance to ensure optimal shredding performance.
